Funny story - During WWII, my dad was in the SOlomon Islands. He sent back lots of film for his father to process in his darkroom. Mom said dad used to ship the film canisters home inside of condoms, to keep them from getting water-damaged.

Welp - since it's WAY out of warranty, I have decided to attack the pickup for my TimeTrax, and see just what seems to be it's problem. I will have to slice the plastic/rubber encasement, but I figure I have nothng to lose at this stage, and that is why they make things like electrical tape and glues.

After I get it dissected, I'll post some pix of the innards, (and the fix, if there is one) in case anyone else has a similar problem.
